In its partner portal software publisher Microsoft announces price changes for on-premises and cloud products. These concern, among other things, the pricing policy for Office 2019. Microsoft partner VENDOSOFT is providing information about the Microsoft price adjustments that are scheduled to come into effect on 1 October 2018.
Since 25 July 2018, Microsoft has been announcing upcoming changes that will become valid from 1 October 2018 with the publication of a new price list. The announcement mentions numerous products to improve offerings relating to digital transformation and enhance the buying and selling experience.
Microsoft is apparently adjusting its licensing programme prices. Cloud products as well as on-premises software will be affected (companies operating software it on their own servers – in contrast to software as a service).
According to Microsoft, the changes will help the software publisher to switch from a programme-centred to a customer-centred price structure, thus increasing consistency and transparency across all distribution channels.
· Fixed starting prices for all programmes with online services (OLS)
· Elimination of volume discounts (Level A and Open Level C) in OPEN contracts
· Alignment of government agency prices for on-premises software and online services to the lowest commercial price for EA/EAS, MPSA, Select Plus and Open programs
VENDOSOFT’s portfolio offers on-premises software as used Microsoft volume licences. It also includes new software and cloud solutions.
That is why the reseller is actively providing information about the Microsoft price adjustments.
These include a price increase for Office 2019, which should be released in autumn 2018:
The latest version of the office application is thus ten percent more expensive. The price increase will affect professional users of the Office Client as well as Enterprise Client Access License (CAL), Core CAL and server products.
Microsoft is also raising prices for Windows 10 Enterprise and will rename Windows 10 Enterprise:
o In future, Windows 10 Enterprise E3 will only refer to the per-user licence
o In contrast, the name Windows 10 Enterprise will refer to the Windows 10 licences per device
o The price of Windows 10 Enterprise will be raised to equal the price of Windows 10 Enterprise E3
o Windows 10 Enterprise E5 per device is being discontinued
All these changes will come into force along with the price list of 1 October 2018.
Microsoft plans to provide advance notice with the September 2018 price list.
As a Microsoft Partner, VENDOSOFT distributes Microsoft products such as office applications, operating systems, servers and server access licences – as both new and used software. We also distribut cloud solutions such as Office 365.
Only VENDOSOFT customers interested in new licences will be affected.
Prices for used on-premises software will remain favourable – usually 30 to 70 percent below the original price for new software.
A Microsoft Office 2013 licence, for example, is available for € 96 (plus VAT); the Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise Upgrade LTSB operating system is available for only € 79 Euro net.
